NODE TIERS

Node tiers are a mechanic that assigns a certain territory with a unique resource called a tier, a tier is distinguished on the map via a rating of 1-10. Each tier is a 100% increase for a max potential of 1000%

There are different types of tiers:

City Tiers involve the development of your towns and cities in your nation. They range from 1 to 10 as mentioned above, the last 4 of these tiers (7-10) are Lore Tiers. Lore tiers involve a deeper level of engagement with the server's lore and storyline.

Settlement Tiers encompass outpost development, including farms, mines, fishing docks, and foraging outposts. These tiers are limited to a range of 1 to 3, allowing you to establish and expand remote nodes within your nation by establishing settlement outposts.

Note: These are merely an outline, it remains up to the judgement of staff as to what tier a territory will be given if any.


CITY TIERS

Tier 1: Homestead

  • Buildings: A minimum of two structures, which could include homes or other buildings.
  • Resource Production: At least one farm or mine, which may be above or below ground.

Tier 2: Community

  • All above mentioned.
  • Architectural Cohesion: Buildings share a uniform architectural style.
  • Industry Presence: Establishment of at least one industry, such as a small workshop or factory.
  • Residential Expansion: Multiple homes or housing structures, beyond just one.

Tier 3: Village

  • All above mentioned.
  • Residential Variety: A variety of homes, accommodating a larger population.
  • Diverse Industries: Presence of multiple industries, enhancing the village's economic base.
  • Transport Infrastructure: Introduction of transportation facilities like a train station, airport, or stables.
  • Marketplace: A small market or store for trade and commerce.
  • Integrated Roads: A network of roads connecting the various parts of the village.

Tier 4: Town

  • Industrial Zone: A designated area with multiple factories or industrial buildings (at least three).
  • Commercial Hub: A marketplace or several storefronts or bazaar.
  • Community Gathering Space: A park, square, or town center for social and public events.
  • Recreational Facilities: At least one recreational building such as a stadium, pool, or theater.
  • Civic Infrastructure: Government buildings like a town hall and enhanced street details (benches, street lamps, etc.).
  • Paved Roads: Well-maintained and properly constructed roads (not dirt).

Tier 5: City

  • Expansion: The city spans across more than one node (optional)
  • Prominent Government Buildings: Large and imposing structures like a parliament building or city administration.
  • Central Gathering Area: A significant town square, park, or amphitheater for large public events.
  • Major Transportation Hub: A large train station or airport with multiple lines and terminals.
  • Green Spaces: Parks and green areas, contributing to the city's livability and aesthetic (unless it goes against your lore, i.e wastelands).
  • Cultural Institutions: At least one major institution like a museum, theater, or gallery.
  • Landmarks: Iconic monuments, statues, or a distinctive clocktower enhancing the city's identity.

Tier 6: Metro Area

  • Regional Connectivity: The area is well-connected to other towns or nations, fostering trade and travel.
  • Agricultural and Mining Expansion: Multiple farms or mines with associated structures like barns or processing facilities.
  • Defensive Structures: Clear defensive infrastructure, which may include barracks or city walls.
  • Cultural and Governmental Depth: A variety of cultural and governmental buildings reflecting a rich civic life (more than 2 each)
  • Major Landmarks: Such as tourist attractions, or multiple monuments and statues.

LORE TIER

Tier 7: Steampunk Metropolis

  • Steampunk Aesthetic: Incorporate a pervasive steampunk design throughout the city.
  • Steam-Powered Factories: All factories should be steam-powered with boilers and visible chimneys, accompanied by smoke effects.
  • Water Source Requirement: Proximity to a river, lake, or the construction of water towers.
  • Airship Dock: An airship dock at the airport, elevating the air travel infrastructure beyond conventional runways.
  • Clocktower: A prominent clocktower symbolizing the city's heartbeat and progress.
  • Class Distinction Areas: Visible areas representing different social strata, unless designed as a utopia.
  • Open to Additional Aesthetics: Encouragement of unique steampunk elements to enhance the city's appeal.

Tier 8: Essence of Detail

  • Underground Network: A well-developed system of sewers or catacombs beneath the city.
  • Detailed Interiors: Every building and room should have meticulously designed interiors.

  • Named Parks and Monuments: Parks and monuments with lore-rich names.
  • Aging and Wear: Utilization of cracked or moss blocks to show the city's age and history (optional).
  • Ubiquitous Chimneys: Chimneys on every home and industrial building, emphasizing the industrial theme.

Tier 9: Embodiment of Lore

  • Character Wiki Pages: Atleast 1+ wiki pages documenting historical or current prominent figures in the nation.
  • Background: A background lore for your nation that you can share with the mods.

  • Construct multiple buildings dedicated to various stages of resource processing.

Tier 3: Thriving Resource Hub
